Terms of Service

These terms cover access to Chatmate, a service for workspaces to connect Instagram Professional accounts and manage available comments, direct messages, replies, and related team activity. By creating an account or using a workspace, you agree to these terms. Chatmate is not affiliated with or endorsed by Meta or Instagram.

Workspace accounts

Provide accurate account information, keep your sign-in details secure, and use only workspaces and Instagram accounts you are authorized to access. Workspace owners are responsible for inviting appropriate members and managing their access. Members may be able to view and manage the workspace’s connected accounts and activity.

Instagram connection and messages

You authorize Chatmate to use Meta’s official authorization and API flow for the Instagram Professional account you connect. You remain responsible for the account, its permissions, and the content sent from it. Replies, moderation actions, and enabled automations must comply with Meta’s terms, messaging policies, and applicable law. Meta determines which accounts, data, message types, and actions are available.

Automation rules are created paused and require a workspace member to enable them. Review an automation before turning it on. A rule can send replies to new matching activity while the connected account and the applicable Meta messaging conditions permit it.

Acceptable use

Do not use Chatmate to access accounts without authorization, evade Meta’s controls, send unlawful or deceptive content, spam people, interfere with the service, or violate another person’s rights. Do not share passwords, access tokens, or app secrets in notes, messages to support, or public places.

Availability and changes

Chatmate depends on Meta APIs and third-party hosting and network services. Features may be unavailable or limited when those services, account permissions, review status, or messaging policies restrict access. We may update or discontinue features to maintain the service or respond to policy, security, or operational changes.

Disconnecting and ending use

You may disconnect an Instagram account from the Channels page. To request removal of stored workspace or Instagram information, follow the Data Deletion instructions. Workspace owners should remove access for members who no longer need it.
